Why should I wear sun protective clothing? According to the Skin Cancer Foundation and most other cancer experts, enjoying the sun safely without overexposure to the sun is essential for a healthy lifestyle. The obvious first line of defense is clothing. Sun protective clothing allows very little of the sun's UV radiation to reach the skin.

Wouldn't it be safer to just stay out of the sun? Exposure to the sun has many health benefits including lowering of cholesterol, lowering of blood pressure, reducing depression, and building of the immune system. We need the benefits of the sun. We just need to exercise good judgement and minimize our skin's exposure to UV rays.

Why not just wear sunblock? Besides the fact that daily use of sunscreen over most of the body can get very expensive, the active and inactive ingredients may pose potential threats with skin allergies and hormonal disruptions.

What is the difference between UPF and SPF? UPF and SPF are both used to measure sun protection. UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) is a rating developed to measure protection level from both UVA and UVB rays for sun protective clothing; whereas SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is a rating applied to sunblock to measure its protection level against UVB rays.

Is the fabric in Nozone Clothing safe? 100% of the sun protection in all of the fabrics used in Nozone clothing comes from the weave of the fabric. No zinc or other chemicals are used in the protection factor of the material. Most of the fabrics are UPF 50+ and block out more than 98% of the sun's harmful UV radiation.

What makes Nozone clothing stand out from others? Nozone Clothing leads the sun protective clothing industry with advanced technology, effectiveness, comfort, design, ethics, and customer service. Is sun protective clothing hot? Nozone fabrics are lightweight and breathable offering cool comfort in warmer temperatures.

How do I remove sand from my swimwear? Nozone fabrics attain their sun protection from the tight weave of the fabric. This tight weave may make sand become more trapped in the fabric after a day of play at the beach. To remove the sand, try this process before washing your suit:

  1. Vigorously shake out as much sand as possible.
  2. Soak in cool water for at least 10 minutes. Use your fingers if necessary to work sand out of some of the worst spots. Soak longer if needed.
  3. Let the suit dry flat. Do not put it in the dryer.
  4. After it is completely dry, vigorously shake the sand out again. If there is still sand, use a dry towel to help get it off.
  5. Still sandy? Try using a blow dryer on the cool setting.
  6. Still sandy? Start with step 2 again.
